Overview

Plotmira explores garden planning through a mobile experience built around a draggable garden-bed canvas with plant palette. A garden planner connecting spatial bed layouts, reference-backed suggestions and seasonal observations. The proposed journey connects bed canvas, palette assistant, garden lens, season journal. Four original phone showcases establish the visual direction, while the case study defines the supporting feature set and a proposed Kotlin architecture.

Plotmira Mobile App hero

Original mobile interface concepts with fictional content. AI responses illustrate proposed interactions; they are not live model results.

Challenge

Gardeners need visual plans, planting references and personal observations connected across a growing season. On a phone, the person also needs to capture information quickly, understand where an answer came from and return to the original material without navigating through a dense desktop interface.

  • Keep bed canvas and palette assistant connected within a short mobile flow.
  • Make constraint-based palette correctable when the model misreads the input.
  • Explain observation tagging through visible references or user-selected preferences.
  • Keep changes, sharing and data retention under explicit user control.

Solution

The design begins with a draggable garden-bed canvas with plant palette, using large touch targets, short task sequences and contextual sheets. Draft planting options from user-selected references and stated space preferences. Explain suggestions using the chosen garden library. The companion views keep drafts, original material and accepted decisions distinct. A moss, butter yellow and terracotta visual system gives this app its own character within the collection.

  • Draft planting options from user-selected references and stated space preferences.
  • Explain suggestions using the chosen garden library.
  • Propose descriptive labels for garden photographs.
  • Summarize the gardener's own entries with links to dates and images.
